King Juan Carlos reappeared this week during a planned visit to Columbia, as Spain’s representative to President Juan Manuel Santos’ swearing-in.
King Juan Carlos has been out of sight for weeks, since his son become King and Spain’s Head of State.
During his visit to Colombia, Don Juan Carlos met with local officials and business leaders.
He also highlighted Columbia and Spain’s historical ties, and the new King’s efforts to boost those ties.
Meanwhile, King Felipe this week met with Balearic Islands officials at Almudaina Palace in Palma de Mallorca. Don Felipe and Queen Letizia are vacationing at the nearby Marivent Palace.
Their Majesties are scheduled to hold a reception with Balearic Islands officials and civil society representatives.
