Most of His Majesty’s assets are in deposits contained within Spain. About 300,000 euros are in art, antiques and jewelry.
Don Felipe released the information to promote a more transparent and modern monarchy, and ahead of transparency reforms to be approved by the government.
The scope of the King and Queen’s net worth remains unclear without an itemized list of jewels and other items.
Queen Letizia, for example, has custody of several diamond tiaras and other valuable pieces of jewelry, that were once controlled by Queen Sofia and are not owned by the Spanish state.
