President Trump will host King Felipe and Queen Letizia for a state visit to the United States in April, the White House confirmed.
Their Majesties visited the White House and other U.S. officials for a working visit in 2018.

The last Spanish state visit to the U.S. was during the George W. Bush administration. King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia visited in 2000.
The Spanish government and royals were eager for a state visit with President Obama.
But even though King Juan Carlos was the first head of state to visit Obama at the White House, a state visit never happened.
President Obama visited Madrid briefly during the end of his tenure. Then-First Lady Michelle Obama visited the royals at Marivent Palace in Mallorca.
On the occasion of King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain’s visit to the U.S in April as State Guest by the invitation of President Trump, May relations between the U.S and Spain strengthen further.
