Princess Leonor Finishes Global Journey

Leonor, the Princess of Asturias, left New York City for Madrid earlier this week after sailing around parts of the world for several months.

The heir to the Spanish throne crossed the Atlantic and stopped at several Latin American ports on the Spanish Armada’s historic training vessel called the Elcano before ending up in New York City.

There she participated in a flag ceremony, attended a concert at Carnegie Hall and met with Spaniards living in the U.S.

Her Royal Highness then had private time before flying back to Spain. Other crew members were set to sail back across the Atlantic.

Spanish Royal Household

Victoria of Hohenlohe, the Duchess of Medinaceli, was set to meet with Princess Leonor in New York, media outlets reported.
